Clients often ask if any area if the wheel of balance is more important than the others. I must admit that relationships is the area of the wheel where I have seen the most joy and the most sorrow.
Relationships are very important to me. It is important to start by looking at your relationship with yourself. Do you like yourself? I have a good relationship with myself and am aware that people sometimes find me over-confident, often a result of me getting overly excited about something.
Next one needs to look at is your relationship with your spouse. I am fortunate to have a husband who challenges me, which is vital when you are as strong-willed as I am. My husband’s love language is time together which can, in this busy life, become an issue.
I have three children aged 22, 13 and 9 years old respectively, and as much as I want to take away any pain they may ever encounter, or choose for them what they want; I remind myself daily to allow them to live their life journey and experience what they need to, while always giving them unconditional love.
Friends are so important and I have special friends from school days, university, and now like-minded people I choose to share my life with. Having good friends requires energy, but the rewards are huge.
Cooking is my area of play where I lose track of time my first career was in fact as a caterer. I love cooking with my children and our friends always rave about our dinner parties. I enjoy eating delicious meals with an equally excellent glass of Chardonnay!
Holidays with my family are a big focus in my house and amongst our favourites is diving with good friends at Rocktail Bay, game viewing in the bush at Phinda and exploring the world from a cruise ship. I love birthday celebrations and enjoy dancing parties, “Mama Mia” being my all time favourite dress-up party.
