Dare to Lead™ full curriculum training
“Living with courage, empathy
and a brave heart!”
In March 2019, Kim trained with Brené Brown in San Antonio, Texas and is now a fully Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator.
Kim proudly brings you Dare To Lead™, a three-day practical workshop based on Brené’s research and her New York Times #1 Bestsellers, Dare to Lead, Rising Strong, Daring Greatly and Into the Wilderness.
How to lean into tough conversations; lead from the heart, be brave enough to be vulnerable; how to connect with empathy and compassion; build the resilience to get up after you fall and re-write the stories and endings that no longer serve you.
Dare to Lead™ is a specific courage-building program that covers the four skill sets of courage:
“You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness”
- Rumbling with Vulnerability: leaning into tough conversations that involve risk and emotional exposure while staying true to yourself.
- Living into our Values: your internal compass should guide you on a path that truly reflects what really matters to you.
- Braving Trust: asking for help, building trust with reliability and accountability, and being generous.
- Learning to Rise: resilience is the ability to pick yourself up and move on while staying true to your values.
Dare to Lead is about building courage. Courage requires vulnerability – and it makes you feel uncomfortable. But courage is about bringing your whole self to every situation without your body armor!
“Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.”
Join Kim Potgieter for an exclusive Dare to Lead™ introductory session in Johannesburg.
Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be run in organisations. I have recently returned from Texas where I trained as a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, and would love to share my experience with you and offer you a sneak preview of the work and how it can be applied in your life and business.

About the Conference
A Conference for Advisors by Advisors
Financial planning is a noble profession. Some say it is the most important profession of the 21st Century. But we face an almighty challenge. Advising people on what they need rather that what they want has never been easy. Behavioural coaching is the single most important way that a financial planner adds value.
Humans Under Management exists to promote, highlight and build on the work that great advisers are doing in developing their behavioural financial advice practices.

Women in Finance Network Event
The Women in Finance Network (WiFN) breakfast event took place on Thursday, 28 September at 54 on Bath Hotel in Rosebank. 110 amazing and inspiring women in the financial services industry attended the event.
The first part of the breakfast session focused on the current state of women entrepreneurs. Marylou Kneale, Founder of Living Facts, shared the research and findings on why women should consider becoming entrepreneurs, as well as the factors limiting them to build successful entrepreneurial businesses. The research was commissioned and sponsored by the Sage Foundation.
Since women account for only 1% of the world’s wealth, entrepreneurial enterprises owned and managed by women should significantly increase this staggering statistic. One of the largest concerns is that 68% of South African women have children younger than 2 years old and living without partners. Marylou stressed the importance of support structures for women and the benefits of networking and surrounding yourself with organisations or people who can support you. In addition, she focused on the fact that women should be exposed to the world of business and finance from an early age. We will go a long way yet if the spirit of entrepreneurship is fostered and nurtured in our girls along with affirmations on risk-taking, confidence, self-belief and competitiveness.
Kim Potgieter, founder of the WiFN shared her insights on how to shape your future and live your dream! She shared her wisdom on the importance of having a life vision and emphasized that you can be whatever and whoever you want to be – as long as you have a dream! Kim encouraged the audience to look inside for ‘insight” and to understand that their greatest asset in life, lies in themselves, in who they are as people. She encouraged women in the audience to believe in themselves, to support each other and to take up the challenge of living their dream lives!

a Chartered Wealth Solutions Initiative
Kim hosted a workshop at the fabulous Brookdale Health Hydro in the Midlands Meander for a selected amount of participants. The perfect venue to restore physical health and mental well-being.
The workshop entitled “Your money Journey” took participants on a personal, very intimate and internally focused journey on discovering their own relationship with money: factors inhibiting a money story of success and abundance, and discussing what a healthy relationship with money entails.
Emphasis was placed on thinking, reflecting and dreaming – envisioning an ideal life where money serves to help fulfill your vision. The process finished with advice and assistance on developing an action plan for change – on transforming the current life journey to a fulfilling and inspiring one.
